I'm french, and i'm going to upgrade my dart 270 four door sedan with 170 ci slant, automatic transmission.
I've bought clifford intake manifold , and i would like to connect a holley 390 cfm throttle to the pedal.
I saw that we can do that with lokar linkage, but what about the pedal system ? Do i change my pedal ?

The stock pedal connects to the Lokar linkage just fine.

He's got the old ball/crank pedal, the cable pedal would be out of a 1965-66 with the V-8, or he could possibly use a later pedal assembly, and drill the holes in the firewall to make things work... (there's always a way to make it work, but it sometimes doesn't look good...)

When I put on both my Edyy 500 cfm and my current Holley 390 cfm I had to go with what I am sure is called a ball and crank linkage. It is a rod not a cable, regardless. Mine was stock on my 64 truck on a 1bbl carb. Taking it off for a 4 bbl offy manifold gave me 2 choices: primaries parallel to or perpendicular to the cylinder line. I studied the matter, bought a cable assembly and pedal, and still couldn't see a clean easy way to use a cable. So I went back to rod linkage. It was really easy. All I had to do was lengthen the rod by adding in one of the hexagonal connectors for threaded rods that are threaded inside each end. I then threaded the end of the rod that has the stud for the throttle linkage hole.( It takes larger washers to secure the stud in the hole) It seems to me I had to bend both the rod in the engine area and I had to cut a piece of the curl off the rod where it meets the pedal, and bend that rod over to the right. I just held up a dummy rod tothe carb and worked it back and forth to to get the right length, then screwed the adapter in between the two rod pieces, one coming up from the firewall and the one from the carb. I can send you a pic if yo want, it was really easy. I never did figure out how to get a cable assembly to work the throttle though. When I added the automatic tranny I used a BPE kickdown cable though, Good company, good stuff.

From France where slant are discredited to benefit of V8, i think that upgrading slant is a proof of technical interest and economy ( 1.35euros per liter of gas !), and i'm most grateful to your for your quickly answers.

Regarding to your answers, my car has the old ball/crank pedal as Dusteridiot said. I was thinking at removing the pedal and put later pedal assembly. But i prefer the idea of lengthening the rod ,as you've done Rock.
In additional of your post, a couple of pictures will be helpful.
