Hello,

PM me if interested...I have a spare used (not new) but perfect small hub flywheel left over from a truck project. Cheap plus shipping.

It is better to use the correct flywheel.

This applies to my 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S:

I have a similar, but opposite situation for my 273 V8. The Torque converter stub is too large for the flywheel.

This makes it impossible to use a transmission for a different engine, say a 904 from a 318.

Will the flywheel from the SL-6 swap w/ the 273? If so, maybe me & kit
pughta swap. However, I'm guessing that the Sl-6 & V8 flywheels don't swap.

The V-8 flywheel has one bolt hole with different placement, it about 1/2 of a hole diameter of a difference. Racers have been known to "slot-out" that hole so that V-8 flywheel can be used on a SL6.

As for using a 904 automatic... there is no flywheel, these have a flex plate. There is a difference in torque converter hub / crank counterbore sizes but there is an adaptor bushing made to allow the small coverter nose to fit into the larger crank counter bore.

There are limited (less attractive) options for using later "big hub" (input shaft) converters in the "small c-bore" crank. You can have a special converter made, you can machine-out the back of the crank or you can change-out the input shaft in the transmission.
