Getting ready to go through the 225 in the '73 duster and wanted to know if anyone here fomerly had electronic ignition and changed over to hei style? I have the stock mopar orange box ecu on my '73 and wonder if it would even be worth the time to convert the car over to an hei or just keep what I have?? I know that by doing this I could eliminate the use of a ballast resistor. Any thoughts??

I can testify that the HEI is worth it. I saw Charrlie S 's HEI conversion and the spark is 10X better than my stock Mopars. I am gathering the parts to do this on 4 cars right now. :D :D :D
Not sure why Ive waited so long.

This post goes into detail on how & why the HEI is better.

It's right there in the how-to article, and the reason for it is explained. Where's the confusion...?

That is correct, it was added long after the original HOWTO post. After a member posted some solid poor results when not using a relay, it was added to the HOWTO post as part of the instructions.
If your wiring is good/new you can check the voltage at the HEI module. If the drop is minnimal a relay is not necessary.

Here's the best price I've found on a genuine Bosch/Tyco relay. It is the 5 pin module, but you just leave the middle tab unconnected. If you want a socket harness, they have a good price on those too.
