The (slant) on the carb mounting base that Black Sheep is talking about is fairly pronounced. 5/16 difference from front to back. When i mentioned this before I thought (goob here) this must be for acceleration and was kindly told that a slant engine does not sit level in the car. Not having an A-body has its disadvantages! :oops: Does an Offy or Clifford 4bbl manifold have the same situation?

HEY ALL

the mounting pad on my cain intake is also slanted but i have alway know this is for flow corection due to the off setting of the pri side of the carb on the intake ..

oh my jetting has not changed much as yet i found out the steel fuel filter ihave mounted up is the engine bay is causing some of my hassles with hot starting so i have removed it ,ive got one at the back of the car before the carter fuel pump ,,

Hi all glad to see that the word is getting out on the aussiespeed pp&r hurricane sl6 manifold. i did a lot of testing before i put the manifold into production.. i spent countless hours on the flow bench to get all the runners to flow even..i still dont know why the factory never made the manifold like this either.I would like to get hold of a hyper pak myself to do my own testing as we have recently purchased an engine dyno & we are having a slant 6 bolted together as a mule engine..I designed the manifold as an all rounder for street & strip & who knows some day make a super hurricane...Please if any body has some pics of the Aussiespeed SL6 manifold on there car please send them so we can add them to our customer gallery. Mark, welcome to the forum! I have one of your hurricane intakes and love it! It will be a while before it goes on the car though. Could you please give your thoughts about repositioning the carb and a divided plenum. Both of these ideas were used successfully on the Hyper-pak I believe. I just e-mailed the Aussie Speed site with a request about this info and here you are on the forum! Please don't feel you have to respond twice! Thanks for your products and your help!

Welcome to the site. You seem to be making some waves here.

I am very interested in one of your M90 intakes, and I have an M90 on the shelf here and two of my Slant cars have EFI already. Thanks for putting in the EFI port bungs.

Any idea when the M90 intakes would be ready, or might this one die out?

Hi Lou, The idea wont die out, It has been very busy down here & trying to develop new products always takes time. We have just finished a few other manifolds for some Aussie Holden 6 cylinder engines. At aussiespeed we like to do it right so it normally takes a bit longer be we normally get the results.. i have some proto type blower manifolds or if you want to do your own kit i could get you a blower manifold ..The kit should be available some time next year...

Thanks again for your efforts. I would be interested in a prototype blower manifold as long as it has EFI bungs. Actually, I would definitely pay extra if you or someone there could drill them for Bosch injectors.

I have my own blower, but would need a longer snout section as shown on the Pentastar parts site. Do you know who would make a longer snout for the M90?

Hi Lou we are getting a special cutter made to drill the injector bosses as it is something that we need for a few of the other AussieSpeed manifolds that will be available in 2009. it is not just a simple drill a hole & wack it in there. there are things to consider as injector angle, clearance,correct size & a hole bunch of other stuff. so rest assure it is on the drawing board.

Over the past few days I have been PMing Mark at Aussie Speed. He has taken the time to reply and answer all of my questions (no matter how stupid). Thanks Mark!

First of all I asked him about the carb pad angle and yes it is all about the engine not sitting level in car. It just looks like a hellava slope! I know some of you guys already told me this but I was just double checking. (Black Sheep sorry 'bout this but it's not about the flow).

Mark has put about 200 hours in R & D trying to get this thing right! He explained to me one of his main concerns was trying to get an even cylinder or port flow. Looks like he did a pretty good job when you see his flow bench results. See his site.

Talked to him about turning the carb and dividing the plenum. He considered this and moved away from it because:

1. The angle on the carb pad.

2. The manifold works so well with a vac. secondary carb.

3. Works well with the fireing order.

4. Linkages and kickdown - of course.

5. And... the plenum design works well... as Black Sheep is seeing higher manifold vac. numbers.

I have tried to get answers to some of our questions - Mark has again been very helpful.

I know that Stonethk has handed his Huricane to Doc and that Mark is in contact with him. Can't wait for Doc's impression. I am thankful that Mark and others (Fanie) are bringing new products and ideas for the slant here to the forum!

There is a 4-bbl. one on eBay right now for $321.00, but I think the shipping is like $130.00 to the US.

I doubt anyone on the site is running or has ordered the 2-bbl. version?

Yep, I've ordered the 2bbl version of the Aussiespeed long runner intake, and other than having the Dutra Duals and a HEI ignition, I'll certainly be looking for input concerning carb and cam choices,,,,

Zilla, it is certainly looking promising. But of course I'm the guy that spent $520 so my hurricane could sit on my workbench! What the hell else would I say? :D Black Sheep is certainly impressed. Stonethk gave his to Doc to test drive. Mark at Aussie Speed is very user friendly. BS aside I was impressed with the design - I hope I'm right. I am waiting for Doc's discerning eye to advise. Hope this helps.
