Just a quick question because Iam curious. I purchased a choke thermostat last year when I was gathering parts for my super six upgrade. It was an airtex 2c1110. Rockauto listed it for a 78 Volare with a /6 2bbl. Went to put it on and it's the same as the 1 bbl thermostat..argh.. Looking through the listings I see airtex 2c1143 listed for a 78 Trailduster with a /6 and a 2 bbl as well as a host of other trucks with the supersix. Anyone know if this is the right one? It's hard to tell from the picture of the part.

I shelled out the money for an electric conversion kit #1232 from carbsonly but was thinking of getting this 2c1143 just to see if it is right, but thought I'd ask here first to see if anyone has tried it.

Thanks
Brent

All the super six choke thermostats are the same, and they are different from any of the five 1bbl types. The last of the original-style choke thermostats are drying up in a hurry. The electric setup's the better deal, anyhow.

I bought an old 2 bbl choke off ebay. What does the electrical wire hook up to?

The choke modulator you need but don't have.

When you get tired of horsing around trying to put together a factory choke setup that's nonadjustable and didn't work very well to begin with even when new, see my previous post in this thread for how to end the frustration. :-)

My electric choke that I ordered from Napa Online arrived on Wednesday. Weather permitting, I'll be installing it this weekend.

I ran the power source from the blue field wire on the alternator. This is the wire that goes to the temperature senser mounted on the head on a stock set up. You could probably use the same location for the choke set up Dan recommends.
