I can find a label through the muck, was there 1 or 2 standard gear ratios in the smaller rears on the '70 'A" bodies?

Most automatic trans cars used the 2.76 or a 2.93 geaar ratio in the 7 1/4 rearend.

Yup, if yours is an original rear axle and no special ratio was specified when the car was ordered, it's 2.76, which became the standard ratio with automatic transmission starting in '68 or '69. But over this many years who knows how many rear axles might've been swapped in. You might want to check the actual ratio. See this thread.

I know I could have counted the Pinion and axle ... I just went through this with my other sons Jeep. That CJ was more than tinkered with.. nothing was 'right'
I was just hoping someone would pipe on as you did with the Standard for the time.
