don`t let anyone talk you into a v8, if you order the cam with a 4degs adv built in then instill it at 0 degs, but still deg the cam with a deg wheel to get the center line right. the rear main seal from summit should be the rubber one , it will work just stagger it about a 1/4in of center when installed so that the two half will line up just above and below the cap joining seem, this will prevent leaks.

if you didn`t ask they most likely machined it with no advance, just check it when you dial in the cam install center line.

Just got off the phone with John. They finally secured a small shipment of slant six cores.

They are hoping to start grinding back-ordered cams early next week! :D

What's a good cam to go with a supersix and everything else fairly stock? low-mid range power and torque with a smooth idle:)

it's not for racing, I just want a few extra ponies while I putter around town.

For those who have ALLREADY ordered a cam they should ship next week. For those who have not they wont have a big run of blanks until July 27th.
However if you have a used cam in good shape Erson will regrind to any of the profiles. This is less than the cost of a new cam and ther is NO wait. John is talking to the powers that be about OUR cost.
Ill update when he calls me,
Frank

Recomendations on a cam for a completely stock engine? Possible headers and 4 barrel in the future.

RV 12RDP or ERSON 270 for a stock engine.

Is there any way to get a catalog of custom lobes by Erson? Or any online source for grind info? I'm not certain of my direction just yet but I spec my own cams and I'd rather see what they have rather than sit on teh phone for an hour.

Looking at Erson's mechanical lobe profiles on page 95 of that pdf I don't see many lobes in the duration range I'd expect for a hot slant. They go right from a mild 220° at .050" tappet rise to the moderate 230° and then right to 242°, 246 and 254. Oregon Cam Grinding has a lot more profiles in the 220-240° @ .050" lift range.

Josh I agree. I just ordered a big cam and had to shift things around several times. The cam ended up a little bigger than I wanted.

I just ordered a RV15RDP and they are out of blanks but are supposed to be getting some in. I talked with John Hartman, he seemed like a real nice guy. He didn't really want to sell me one til they had the blanks. I told him I won't see the states until 8-21 anyway besides I am just getting parts while I have the money. I told him I was in no hurry, just go ahead and order it up.
