Anybody know how close the spring perches are on an F/J/M body rear to an A-body? Will it bolt in? I think the track is close to a '66-'70 B-body, which fits right into my plan.
I'm gonna use a '73-up disc set up on a '68 Dart, then use a wider rear end to make the track nearly the same in the rear.
Then I can run 4 of the same wheel with a fairly high offset.

Thanks.

I recently parted out an 80 Cordoba that had a 70 B Body 8.75 installed. I didn't see any issues when I removed the rear end. It's available with or w/o gears (2.94 peg leg).

The F/M/J spring perches are 1 inch farther apart than the A-body. Mopar Muscle did an article where they put an M-body rear in an A-bomb.

If the new axle has a different diameter ring gear than the one you're pulling out, you'll need to change the driveshaft. Typically, this means to shorten it, but not always.

The 64-66 Mustang, 75-80 Ford Grenada/Mercury Monarch have the same spring perch spacing as the A-body. The 8 inch is okay, the 9 inch is better. Avoid the 8.8 inch. The holy grail of this source is a complete Lincoln Versailles assembly. It is a 9 inch rear with disk brakes. The Versailles was made from 77-80 in very small numbers. Good luck finding one in a salvage yard cause the Ford guys are after them, too.

Thanks for all the info, guys.

I just snagged a '65 B body 8.75, so it looks like that's what I'll be adapting 8)
