Is there a quick and easy way to determine if a transmission is an A-904T with the wide ratio gearset as opposed to an A-904 if the transmission is just sitting out loose?

Thanks.

I don't know if there is an easy way but most of the 80's lock up transmissions have the low gearsets (Fifth Ave, Fury, Imperial...etc)

You could read and post the trans number stamped into the kickdown-side trans pan rail...

True, but I need to know so I can spot one to buy in a boneyard.

Looks like it is from a 1979.

http://www.mymopar.com/downloads/transguide.pdf

I have a 79 service manual and it still shows the standard gear ratios (no low gear sets avail):
2.45 first
1.45 second
1.00 third
2.21 reverse
