Running a hotter plug at the end cylinders often solves the fouled plug deal... some think the fuel doesn't stay atomized long enough to make it to the end cyls. causing a rich mixture.

sv162 will tell you that doesn't work as well as it would seem. He had some pinging in response to hotter plugs as reported in another thread about rich conditions on plugs 1 and 6. I assume you still have manifold heat? This has helped others with fuel condensation in the two longest runners. Also if you removed the lean burn carb you should get a standard distributor and ignition box. The lean burn stuff was all meant to work together so the remaining parts are working against the progress you made with the carb swap.
