thanks. since this is for my kids truck, i am hoping to make it "idiot proof" so he doesn't have to toggle manually. if i recall from something i read here if you shift into lockup during hard acceleration it may burn up the lockup clutch. i am considering swapping the hydraulic lockup in my truck with his electric. do you know if you can use a high (2800-3200) stall electric lockup converter? my sons truck is basically stock, but i am building a fairly strong 225 for mine and like the idea of manually selecting lockup. have a great day, andy.

try this site I use an adjustable hobbs switch on cummins for lockup there about 26-28 $pn 76053. then use a vacuum switch on a gas to avoid WOT lockup http://www.transmissioncenter.net/SwapInformation.htm

thanks nick. good reading. since i have a 904 with no overdrive, the part #71V2 from that site seems to be a good choice since i can adjust the switch to close at the vacuum point that makes the lockup behave to my liking. i will see if napa has a similar switch since i get a discount there as i buy a lot of stuff for my job there. that should squeeze a few more mpg out of the truck. thanks again, andy.
