I am considering a new set of Cragar rims for the Valiant - I have run on a used set for years now and although one rim has always given me trouble ( have to keep it on the back) I have never noticed any other issues.

Just to be on the safe side I thought I'd ask if anyone has purchased a set in the past 2 or 3 years.

Specifically I am looking at the Cragar S/S (part# 08070) rim - 14" x 7" with a 5 x 4" stud pattern and 4.125 backspacing - I will be putting P185/70R14 tires on them.

So if anyone has feed back it would be appreciated.

Also if anyone can point me to a site that sells Cragar rims with tires - balanced and shipped to your door that would rock - I had a site a few years back but I cannot seem to find it.

Thanks all :)

Peace

Why such a narrow tire on a 7" wide wheel? You can put 225 or 235mm section width tires on a 7" wheel easily. If you are intent on running a narrow tire like that I'd use 6" wheels and loose some weight.

That us what I have on the wheels I am running atm - I know nothing about tires sadly. I would love a wide tire on the car although I be cautious at the front for clearance.

Is anyone else running 225 or 235 tires on the front of their 71 Valiant on a 14" x 7" rim?

A 215/60 or 205/65 would be perfect on a 7" rim..........

I think Tire Rack will ship balanced and mounted. Don't know if they carry the Cragar's, though.

My 73 Dart /6 has 205/60-15s on a 7" wide rim with 4¼" back space. No problems with fit.

Check Summit. www.summitracing.com

yep. browsing my last catalog shows that wheel for 149.95 and if you order tires balancing is 15 per wheel. BF goodrich radial ta for 85.95 or cooper cobras for 88.95, both in a 215/70. total cost is about $1010 plus shipping depending on any promos.

Both my brother's '67 Barracuda and my '72 Swinger run 235/60-14's on the front with no rubbing. Both are disc brake cars.
