Running 5000rpm through the traps with these runs!! Stock bore 225.

Best time 60' time is 2.0 My HP computed from my 60 Foot Time of 2.0 at Weight of 3400lbs with me in the car. 187.05 HP. Looks good here!

Best 1/8 mile time is 10.0 My HP computed from my ET is 154.87 rear wheel HP and flywheel 172.08 HP. Loss of 15hp?

Best 1/4 mile time is 16.27 My HP computed from my ET is 140.43 rear wheel HP and flywheel 156.03 HP. Loss of 15hp more?
Around 30 HP loss, seems like to much. Is this normal? Why is this? What can we do to correct this?

Probably too much mechanical advance in the distributor. What's the total mechanical timing and the RPM where it's all-in?

You mean you have no mechanical advance in the distributor?

Automatic or manual transmission?

If auto, you're getting torque multiplication, which will inflate the power numbers in the shorter distances..........

Automatic. I see like my truck has more power in low gear. Gear to weight ratio. Pulls the weight better in low, than in high, Thanks.

The only slant six distributors without a mechanical advance are for Lean-Burn and those don't have a vacuum advance either. If your initial timing is 26° BTDC the timing is too far advanced.

I don't know what the distributor came out of. It was missing a spring, not the heavy duty one. Installed a light duty spring there. #925B from a Mr.Gasket kit

The cam installed straight up they said when I bought the motor, it was already put together.
It has a 3200 10" converter. Sits @ 3000 when staged.

Don't put too much faith in those calculators. All they are is a scale of how much HP it takes to move X weight X distance in X time. They do not take into consideration thiongs like aerdynamic drag, gearing, etc..

I agree with Zilla. The Wallace calculator says my car has 395 rwhp and will do 10.83 calculated from my 60 ft time.I am actually right around 300 rwhp and the car is capable of high 11s.My goal is 11.66 all motor.Guzzi Mark

It reads like you're getting wheel spin at half track. That 10 sec 1/8 ET should be good for a 15.7 1/4 mile

What mph are you running. You're better off using mph to calculate HP.

Which 1/4 mile HP calc are you using. The one I use puts your rwhp at 156.3 from your 1/4 ET. There you go, you just gained some HP right there.

:D

From what I'm reading, you have a mechanical advance with very light springs that come all in at idle?
