Hiya! I'm about to install a brand new, never run, Holley 1945 into my '73 Valiant in place of the crappy, leaky Holley 1920 I've been running. I've pretty much got the conversion figured out, except...

Does anyone know what the Tee pictured below is for? Should I just cap it?

Also, I don't have any experience at all with 1945's. Does anyone out there have any advice? Things I should be aware of? I do plan on checking out the training videos, but I figure nothing beats the advice of someone who's had hands on experience with these. Anyone information that can save me "trial and error time" is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Thank you!!!

-Matt

This nipple at base means manifold vacuum. Use tee for other stuff that needs manifold vacuum or change hose for longer one and omit the tee.
This is choke pull off diaphragm. Make sure this is adjusted correctly.

Cheers, Wizard

The T is probably for the thermostatically controlled air cleaner.

See the open port coming out of the side of the carb in the picture above? All of the diagrams I have found showing how the 1945 should be properly installed identify that port as what should be hooked up to the air cleaner.

So it would be easiest for me to go with Wizard's advice, especially since I'm not using EGR,vacuum amp, or any other vacuum related things, I could just cap it.

But if anyone else has an opinion about this I'd like to hear it.

THANKS!

-Matt

On my setup I run a line from the vacuum gauge to the "T". If your not running a vacuum gauge or the original pollution control, cap it.
