Hi all, the old thread is getting really crowded so I hope its ok to make a new thread on this SLOW restoration...

Someone has really screwed up my '66 Dart somewhere along the line...

SOLEX - British Made! :P

Oh while im at it... saw a crack on the exhaust manifold (hope can be welded)

took the transmission apart and gave it a good clean...

Cleaned the head and grind the valves... and seats...

Number '65 was stamped on both LH and RH side of the transmission... so i assume this is a '65 trans on a '66 body...

Will update more later :)

Forgot how to decipher it, but the clocklike stamp with the 65 in the middle is when that part was cast.

Sometime in 65 for a 66 model year makes sense....

(I'd say sometime in August)

I think its a '66 too, coz the tail shaft extension seal is "booted" like this:

Only '66 - '72 has this type of extension seal rite?

Exhaust manifolds almost never stay together after welding. If your able I would try and find one that is NOS.

Well it is cast iron and i live in Malaysia... i have the only Slant Six in the whole country :(

To ship the cast iron manifold over would be fun ($$)... speaking of that, anyone has a decent exhaust manifold with no cracks?

Thanks.

Syed

Finally got the Dart on ramp and took out the rear end and leaf springs. Monday should be able to get the front lower and upper arms out. Then will get all sandblasted before putting all new bushings and ball joints etc.

Here are some pix...
