any idea if a 69 225 will fit in a 78 volare or do i have to change the pan?

If it is truly a 1969 block/crank and from a 1969 Dart/Valiant it should go right in without much fanfare.

You should be able to make this swap...assuming it's the original engine or if replaced, the previous owner used a 1968+ engine...if someone decided to put a 1967 or earlier motor and tranny in it then it won't work...

Have you looked at the ID pad near the #1 spark plug and alternator bracket to see what numbers it has.
