Hey everyone, Long time listener, first time caller!
I parked my car in February 1999 and started taking it apart for some basic upgrades. It has set a long time! I am just now getting around to putting it back together. Life happens.
I grabbed a 2bbl intake, carb, air cleaner and linkage from a 1980 Chrysler Lebaron Medallion out of a JY back in 1999. I thought it was complete. When I was getting ready to rebuild the carb a couple of weeks ago i realized that the set screws were missing! Through a little research i found that carb was very common, so i am not too worried about finding those. However, I cannot remember how to hook up the linkage. I have no idea. I think i have to get a V8 accelerator cable.
Any tips or pictures would help greatly!
OR if your in the Saint Louis area I'd love for you to come by and laugh at me and my project.

Hi Sponj, and welcome to the forum.
In each section there is a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), and in the 'engine' FAQ you will find this link to BBD info. (all red text are links) This file may open slowly, it's a 7.4 Mb pdf file, then read your way to page 26, where info on the differences between Carter BBD's for the V8's and SL6 are discussed. There are pics of the set screws - when you say set screws, I hope I interpret correct as the screws adjusting the air/fuel mix - and beware: they are different from V8 to SL6!

There is a world of info waitng for you in the FAQ, in car matters it will be a bible for you for years to come, so take some time to browse it!

Thank you so much! I've already downloaded it and am going to look over it at lunch and study it in the evenings.

Just last night I had a guy offer me a universal remote turbo setup from STS. So now I have to go to that topic!!

WOOHOO!

can anyone tell me if this will work for my missing idle mixture screws? I THINK i'm safe since i took the carb off of an 1980 /6.

Here you can see the difference between the mixture screws for the super six BBD on top, and old-style mixture screw bottom.

As you can see in the text in the link to the manual that I gave you earlier, the original super six carb from 1977 - as well as newer 318 carbs - has a fixed restriction in the fuel passage down to the screw, and the old-style screw will not work properly.
Oh yes, I have tried!
