I have a few questions regarding the super six.

The 2.25" exhaust system, is that inside or outside diameter?

Anyone who've ported the outlet of the exhaust manifold, how much of a difference did you notice in performance and economy?

Can I get any 2.25" pipe, two stud exhaust flange?

I own a welder....why pay for labor!!!

Has anyone pieced together their own 2.25" exhaust system from pre-bent tubing purchased from either a parts store (such as Napa)/and or a custom shop?

I thought I had one more 'Q but to tired to even think so any help and feedback is appreciated...I have not done an exhaust system before.



I already installed the intake/exhaust manifold, no gasket sealer...would anyone recommend using it?

if you have a welder order 180deg bends and straight pipe , cut the bends you need . smoothing all the joins inside that you can doesn`t hurt.

On the intake/exhaust manifold heat box junction, either get a Remflex or Aussie graphite gasket or cover the metal gasket with orange high temp sealant on both sides, wait 30 minutes, and then assemble it. You may not have a leak when it's done.

If I were you I would just get one of these.[/url]

AHHHH!! Already got the intake/exhaust on the head with the fel-pro gaskets (no sealer) I figured it would work alright since it's a metal gasket.

Nope, exhaust pipe measurements are OD (outside diameter)

Anyone know the difference between these two carburetor gaskets for the Carter BBD?

The one with the two holes is better. The other looks like it was made for an open plenum manifold (maybe a jeep application?).

If you go to the engine FAQ's Carburetor operation & repair information, there is important reading regarding that gasket from page 26->on in the BBD_Manuals.pdf.

If you're planning to make a heat shield, you need both anyway; one below, and one on top of the shield.

If you're looking for a pre-bent pipe, do a search for Accurate Exhaust products. I got my header pipe from them. It was good stuff, albeit probably a more expensive way to go then crafting your own.

Yep, that should work.

Anyone ever run a cherry bomb as a resonator on the tailpipe while using a new stock type muffler? Just wondering anybodies opinion.
