I live near a salvage yard with alot of Gremlin's(AMC Cars),is this drum/hub swap real?

Casually looking for a Clifford hyperpak intake for cheap.

I have also heard that early Mustang will work, but I have never seen any proof of it.

Run down to the yard and grab a pair of drums/hubs. They can't be asking a whole lot of cash for them.

couldn't you check for a parts number interchange at your local store? (bearings, and whatnot) my guys are pretty cool, might save you the time, money and effort... let me know.

One can check part numbers all they want. They both might use the same front wheel bearings. The problem may be that there's a difference between the distance(s) between the two bearings, and there may also be a difference in depth or offset of the drum to the hub. The only real way to find out is to try it.

The AMC hubs use the same wheel bearings as the '72 and earlier A-body 10" drum brake spindle, but the seal is different. If you have 9" drums you're out of luck. I was going to put AMC hubs on my Barracuda, but ended up changing spindles.

i'm in the same boat i guess? I got 4" pattern in the rear and 4.5" pattern in the front...

Isn't there a rear axle or complete rear end that's a straight swap into early A's?(with 4.5"bolt pattern)

The wheel adapters (billet, hub centric) you have pictured are completely safe IMHO. I have run those on road courses and dragstrips on my Valiant racecar, and recently on my '68 turbo Dart. Cameron Tilley has been running that type on his 630 HP turbo Valiant for years.

However, if you kill yourself with them, I disclaim responsibility since I cannot be there to help you shop for them or install them or...

73-76 A Body 8.25 LBP rear is a direct bolt-in. Use the shock plates that come with the 8.25 rear
