installed a rebuilt alt and a new reg on my home biult rat rod cant get it to charge. 75 alt with 2 fields. wired to instructions, but i have a volt meter instead of amp meter. when i hook the wire from the balast resistor to the center pin on reg it pops the ign fuse. sure could use some help thanks

Volt meter should connect between voltage plus and ground.

Go back and double-check your wiring setup to make sure it looks like this, and make sure you didn't accidentally create an open circuit in the charging line when you took away the ammeter.

Host the pic somewhere, like photobucket. Make sure it's small enough to meet guidelines, or Guido will get you. Look in how to use this forum about that.
