Hi all, I need help with figuring out what stall speed converter to go with for my A-904 TF. My 225 will be a street/strip engine around 10.5:1 comp, custom grind solid cam with 244/252 @ .050", and various other parts to match. Plan on runnning 3.73 gears in my 741 case 8 3/4. Trans will be pro-built as well. This is all in a '63 B-body too
Hoping this is enough data to get some ideas?

A lot of guys here are using 3000-3500 RPM converters. Looks like your going to be pushing a lot of weight, so I would start there unless others have some recommendations. What's "Snake" doin' these days....

Yeah, when he was at JE. They had some awesome nitrous forgings that I used in all my stuff.

Assuming this is mostly a drag car, with some limited street use, I'd say go for around 3400-3600 stall. 9.5" converter diam. If you want more heavy street use, then 2800-3000 will also work well. You will have to talk to a reliable converter place and specify your engine est output, or they will sell you a V8 unit that will stall much lower on your car.

I have run both these stall speed ranges on the street and have been happy with street and strip use. To go higher than about 3600-3800 stall, you will need quite a wild 225 to make the high revs.
