My 71 manual states, for all drums and floating caliper & drum system, to start with rear wheels and move to front. For fixed (4 piston) caliper & drum, to start with the front and move to the rear.

Any ideas? I have the 4 piston setup, and started with the rears as I have known was generally proper, but my pedal still sinks a bit on the first pump compared to subsequent pumps. Wonder if bleeding the fronts first will make a difference?

Give it a try, I do know that the K.H. 4 piston caliper is pretty high and any air will end-up there.
With the Discs, most of the pressure is set forward so that may be why they want you to bleed the fronts first.

My favorite way to bleed brakes is to use Speedbleeder one-way valves. These things replace the usual bleeder screws, and I've found I can get a lot more air out using these things than with conventional brake bleeding techniques.

Matt, yep I put in speedbleeders all around. They do work well, just must be careful because three pumps of pedal with one open bleeder and the resevoiur is drained.
