I could loose some weight also. I am 225#... a perfect weight for a slant racer. 9 years ago when I started racing I was a lot lighter. the nice thing is when I cut weight off the car it does not come back.. in fact a bit of Rustin in the rain, it might be actually lighter.

I a quite the picky eater as well... that doesn't help my diet :(

In an all out effort to Loose a bit of weight off ruster, espically the Front, every component is being scrutinized for weight Savings.

Today the New Weld Front Runner Wheels Arrived.. I couldn't wait to get them on the Scale.

The Bogart Force 10's That I bought off Romeo a while Back (thanks Romeo!) Weighed 9.214# Each, Bare without The Tire on.

I made some Material to connect the width of the Airdam all the way back to the Tire.

Hi Scott,

Yes - There is a Blurb on My doors here:
http://slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php ... &start=495

Read a few pages starting with that link.. I have taken More weight Out of the Rear doors since then, But there is always more to remove..

The Drivers' Front Is still quite heavy - I am sure I can hack into that alot now that I have the Rollbars installed.

Also if I remove the Frame in the Drivers door and get rid of my hemi super stock roll down drivers window, I am sure I can loose almost 5# there. just Have to find time to do it.

Thanks Harry,

You should come out to a slant 6 race sometime, Even if you dont have a slant 6 car to run, I bet you would enjoy one.

There are some other equally impressive and more impressive cars than Ruster that Will come to Mason Dixon Dragway (located in Maryland) in May for a slant Race.

Cheers!

Greg

Mason Dixon Opened today for their 2013 season - But I decided it was too cold to go for any decent runs.. :-( I have been looking forward to March since Last November... But If the Weather is a bit warmer I will go Next week instead.

So If you cant race, then you should check some things off that to do list for the race car:

I have Been wanting to Put Skirts o the Side of Ruster for quite a while..

It is difficult with a stock Suspension and unit Body frame to get the car low like a full chassis car.. So the next Best thing is to build some extensions that Get low to the ground for you.

I want to get that Low Funny car / Pro Stock Aero Feel For the car:

Image

I made this one out of a House Gutter Downspout so it was plenty light - And it was alot cheaper than buying Sheet aluminum at the Store. I got these downspouts for Free - YAY

I just Had to Pry it open on the Seam where it was folded during manufacturing and just pounded it flat with a rubber mallet.

I attached it to the Rocker Panel and put a rigid support behind it with 2 Struts that attach to the Bottom Lip of the Rocker Panel.

Pics:
Downspout Pryed open and 1/2 Flattned:

Installed on Car:

Now I just need to Do the Right Side and paint them Black.

I also Added a bit of Road Race Vibe For my Tow Strap, with the Red Arrow and the Stencil "TOW" :-)
