First off thanks to Rick Covalt for loaning me his alum adapter plate made up by Team Green. A local machinist buddy of mine has spent the time and energy to develop a print and program to reproduce these. This is based on a Lakewood bell.

DadTruck will be using this as a first step to adapt his smblk Quicktime bell. The goal of this adapter is to: #1 protect your feet and #2 run V-8 clutch,pp, and flywheel.

This is a project that is ongoing and I will keep all of you updated. If you had ever considered running a stick - things may have just gotten a little easier.

Thanks for the comments. But no it's not the portless crossflow head.
And yes the starter is where it is supposed to be, but it didn't work. Broke a bunch of starter noses. I went with a Tilton starter with no nose and never had another problem.
I would not use a small block bellhousing again though. Too many bolts overlap and it just was the hard way to do it. Nexy project will be the big Lakewood 2 peice Big Block unit. Should easier to adapt and make work. But I don't have a small tunnel to work with either. No nose starter is one key. McLeod made my flywheel, stock 340 32 lbs with a early slant six flange pattern.

So the SBM bellhousing isn't the best choice. Isn't the BBM bellhousing a lot larger. Any problems trying to get it to fit into some A bodies as far as tunnel clearance.

My mom would wash my mouth out with soap when I would say words like that LOU!

The problem as I see it from my myopic point of view is any bellhousing that is around the slant six mounting flange will have to have countersunk fasteners. By going with this bigger unit I can use regular bolts with a normal clearance around the bolt diameters. The two peice can be opened from the bottom to service the clutch.

As for space, 67 Up should be no problem, they put BB's and Hemi's into those bodies. 66 back will require some fixing.

On my Colt I will have all the room I need.
