can anyone tell me the correct part number for the speedometer cable for a 1964 valiant automatic. I ordered 1 from Rock auto and of course it is not the correct 1 . the 1 I need screws on at the speedometer but pushes in at the transmission . Just replacing the inner cable will not work as mine is totally mangled thanks

'64 parts manual shows the cable as part #21-84-1.

I found one N.O.S. on ebay, HERE.
Or, Schumacher Creative Services has new ones here, scroll down about 2/3rds of the page.

Use a good quality silicone grease all up and down the inner cable, and then wipe it off the top 6 inches or so. That grease can migrate into your speedo and kill it.

With that done, your speedo cable should serve well for another 40 - 50 years. I don't know about you, but in four decades I'm pretty sure I'll be pushin' up daises and won't care if the speedo works
