Hey Lou - I will pick mine up at Mason Dixon most likely on Sunday. I would like to have my 87 slant D100 on the road by then but no promises.

If you don't race with us you can't have the adapter!! Hope to see you there.

If the starter is in the low mount position it might not work with those running the clifford dual long tube style headers in a car...anyone confirm a test fit to see if they are stuck with dutras or 6 into 1's or shorty's?

A B&M Quicksilver is the only compatible ratchet shifter that I've found, depending what you're looking for.

got the trans ordered this afternoon. i am happy. wife gets home from work and says "my car smells hot". i reply "did you check the temp gauge?"

anyone wanna guess what she replied?

yup, you guessed it.

replaced blown bypass hose, bubbles emanating from coolant, head gasket at minimum. (maxda 626 12 valve/4cyl.)

the best part of the story is while on my way home from gathering parts, i saw an 80s chrysler with a riding mower stuffed in the trunk. well, some of it was in the trunk. never have a camera when i need one. right rear in trunk, left rear kinda in trunk and the rest sticking out the drivers side. hilarious.

Sounds like progress, Andy. I will probably duplicate your trans order. Is this the one that locks up in 2-3-4 gears, or just in 4th? Is that a 9.5" lockup converter? Thanks!

I plan to use my stock column shifter for this install, but we'll see what evolves.

DI, you can run the starter in either high or low position. There are holes/reliefs drilled for both locations on the plate.

Lou

hello. lockup in 3-4. bowtie overdrives is 2-3-4 and monster trans is 4 only. yes, 9.5 lockup.

there are adapters available to increase the throw on the column shift linkage, or adjustable levers for the trans shift input.

my trans is expected to be done tomorrow (fri.) now i gotta find a car for my wife since she is driving mine after the mazda blew a gasket. sending that one down the road.

glad i ordered my trans before her car broke, you know once you make the order, you can't UN order it. :D

Andy,

That sounds very promising. Lockup in 2nd sounds not so great to me anyway. 3 and 4 should be perfect.

Glad to know they can do the 9.5" lockup. I tried to get a 9.5 or 10" LU conv made for my A500 Mopar trans from a few shops, and I could not get them to do it, even though they listed that they made them. This is a major benefit to the 200-4R trans - wide converter availability.

Thanks again,

Lou
