alright her is what I have, 87 Dodge 150 2wd, with a 1970 super six 225 with a late 70's 904A non lock up tranny with a 9.25 posi rear with 390 gears. I am wondering what stall speed converter I should use. I work the hell out of this truck, 3000lbs on the back AND a 4500 car on the dolly, or a half of cord on the truck and 1.5 cord on the trailer. I have 2 options, 1..1700-2100 stall or 2..1900-2400

PS I do run type F tranny fluid for a firmer shift engine is stock with 2 bbrl electronic ign with soft springs and an accel super coil with 8.8mm wires

I just asked Rodney about this. He recommended the lower stall with that kind of load.

No disrespect, but why the lower. I get this thing into some sticky situations with the trailer on in the woods, backing up,steep grades,mud, etc. Just wondering why one and not the other?

I would want the higher stall just for that exact reason. More grunt when trying to get a load going. 2400 isn't a lot of stall.

You're talking a difference of about 300 RPM over stock with the higher stall. Order it and don't look back.

Higher stall means more heat. If you use the higher stall converter with the loads you're pulling you will want a big cooler. Your highway cruise RPM should also be a couple hundred RPM above the stall speed otherwise the slipage and heat will be rather serious.
