Great info!!! I don't think that this engine is original, probably a late 70's! I couldn't find any numbers on the block by the #6 cyl. but I'll try and find out what year motor is!! It ran fine and started missing bad so they rebuilt the carb and that was the beginning of the nightmare!! I will read up and dive back into her next week!! Thanks for all the help!!

How does it die? When you let off the key? After idling? After putting load on it?

I'm having trouble replying!! What do I do to reply? It runs a little while when I let off the key to the run position!! It sounds like it floods out! I pump the gas and it tries to run but eventually dies. Runs rough but sometimes it sounds like it is hitting on all 6!! I don't know how to post photos or I could give you a few pictures!! Sorry about reply troubles!! Thanks so far!!

Have you checked the condition and gap of the points in the distributor?

Fixin' to jump on it in a bit!! Started her up this morn and she started right up and was hitting on all six and then it seemed like it was starving for gas! I pumped the pedal but she just died!! I can't figure out if it's flooding are starving!! Oh well, thanks for the info!! I'll make sure she's timed right and check the points and take it from there!!

next time after car starts , and engine dies, remove a spark plug and
look if it is covered in gas.
I had a similar problem where it would not start, after removing a plug
found it was covered in gas. I changed carb and now it is okay.
