:? my 75 dodge van with a 225 slant 6 -3 speed 250 or 230 tranny...,going in for complete tear down.....bodywork,paint,the works, need advice from the pro's on engine ..full rebuild or not...motor is going to tore down and redone...should i go the with the full rebuild kit,...pistons ,cam shaft,timing chain, rings, ect....or should i only need to change certain parts...motor sound good but ...theres is some tapping,but no knocks,...if so where can i find mopar rebuild kits that are specific to this dodge motor .....im am not a mechanic and only have a basic understanding of the process... so while being in paint shop my mechinic is going to do all this work.rebuild motor and tranny 1600.00 + parts....so i really really need some real pro (printable )..advice and a recipe on how to proceed without costing me fortune.....thanks john in pa

You are going to want to tell us if youre going for mild or wild. Your driving type and other details. Most likely you'll want low end torque so do a search for a bit and read up. I know aggressive ted has a torquer build and dadtruck done a lot of research on his which is told to be a stump puller.

mild...basic driver ,city ...not speed way...,base model van as base as u can get in 1975, cheapest way to go with best long lasting results (long lasting effects ) looking for longevity ...thanks i think
