Hello, Is it possible to block off the vent hole on a stock style lever arm Fuel pump?

Mine squirts out all kinds of oil(out of the Vent hole) and I will be putting a vacuum pump on the engine this time around anyway. So I am attempting to seal up all leaks.

This would be on the Ruster Race engine.

Just curious about it.

I dont really want to go to an electric pump if I can avoid it.

I think this is more due to the Oil scrapper and windage tray that I have on that side of the engine.. The Fuel pump itself works fine. I wonder if the scrapper is sending an abnormal amount of oil near the pump arm?

Remember this is on a 6500+ rpm race engine, Not on a Street motor.

I guess I can try another pump and see what I come up with.

it still does not solve the Vacuum Pump / Seal issue.

I add a fitting so I can vent to a higher location or into a "pressure source". (Turbo boost)

Excellent, I think that what I was looking to do anyway.. Can I tie it into the Valve cover or some other area that the vacuum pump will be pulling a vacuum on?

You do not want a lot suction on the back-side of the diaphram because the pump will not "pump" fuel.

Another option is to make a special fuel pump gasket to block oil access into the pump housing, as much as possible.

Again Excellent Considerations.

Thanks Doc.
