In the late (1976+) FSM they set the torque at 125 minimum...my last set of BJ in A- arms set at 175 ft/lbs with a 3/4" torque wrench and they seated and were solid with no need for weld...

for an engineer writing a FSM, 125 is what you might get for a virgin UCA needing minimal torque to thread the OEM/New unit BJ in with proper factory and laboratory tolerances...30 years later, anything can go....so welding after "MONGO" installs the BJ will be required, especially if the shoulder of the BJ nut can't seat against the UCA (this can multiply road stresses against the UCA sheet metal by rocking the BJ neck in the bore and cause a failure...and is hard on 30-40 year old parts).

Huh.. ok, I just never put that much thought into it thinking if they got that tight then your set. The difference between 125 and 175 is probably a small small fraction of a turn.
