Hey guys, Id like some different opinions on this.

After looking at a few of these heads I have noticed on both ends the casting for the water flow were never cleaned out very well.

I dont know if this applies only to hydraulic heads but I have 4 of them and they are all the same ( 81 up )

Is this something typically cleaned/punched out/deburred by someone overzealous like myself?

I would think getting the water to flow as much as possible in these heads would be a good thing?

Anyone else ever run into this?







The bottom two photos show the passages to the left nearly completely shut-off by casting flack.

That is a typical casting issue of all auto brands not just Chrysler. I think you keep expecting to find Ferrari type craftsmanship in a vehicle that probably didn't cost much over $3000 new, and your just not going to find it.

Where the bowls have been enlarged from the valve job, you will need to clean that up and blend with a die grinder and smooth up with a cartridge roll abrasive.

It can't hurt to clean that flash out of the water passages, and might help. It will make you feel better.
