We just recently did a valve adjustment, but that wouldn't have anything to do with that would it?
Pull the valve cover, and have a look-see.

Fuel, air, spark.... Bought my own set of feeler gauges today as I will always need them and planning to borrow a compression gauge. Warm motor, all plugs out, and throttle open is what I've read to do when testing for compression. I'll give an update once I've tested both.

While you're at it pick up a remote starter switch that can be operated while under hood; it connects to starter relay. When I perform compression tests I connect battery charger to battery.

And remember to remove air filter and have the carb butterfly wide open while testing compression. (Or remove carb).
