Who has built one specifically for a slant? I have a rough idea of how I want to do it but maybe someone has something better than what I have in my head. Lets see some pictures...

I have one, that I need to get my shop cleaned up so I can dig is back out and use it....

I worked with my buddy to build it, so it's like a 4 wheeled cart with "locking wheels", but made the side rails "universal" to bolt up any 1967-1976 A body K-member... so I can bolt in a /6 or LA 'K' and test which ever engine I need to work on. The rear mount is set for a 4 speed bellhousing bolt pattern, that way I can use a standard bell and flywheel to mount a starter...

I have an upright to mount the EI ignition system to it, and the "pushbar" part of the cart has a wide metal 'C' channel I can mount gauges to (in between the uprights it's wide enough to mount an A-body radiator the correct dimension to use stock late A-body hoses... (there is also a battery tray on the side and I figured on using a marine gas tank to hook to the fuel pump for carb'd motors (EFI testing will need a bit more "stuff")

If I get time to dig it out I will take pics of it for you.

I was thinking about making it for slants only seeing as how I have 5 or 6 of them laying around. I have a 73 A-body radiator, spare 73 and up spool mounts, spare electric fan, battery box, I would run a boat tank unless I come across a small Moon Equip. style tank, have gauges/throttle cable permanently mounted along with an HEI unit unless I am running a magneto or points.
Defiantly locking casters and make it as compact as possible. I just need to drag one of the engines to work so I can start laying it out.

Long time ago I parted out a 66 Barracuda and saved the core support, front rails, K Frame and transmission crossmember as one unit. I made a set of wheeled mounts that bolt to the front and rear. Since the K is the same for a slant and V8, using the proper motor mounts will allow me to break in either a slant or V8. Since it's all basically open, there's plenty of room to keep and eye on everything.

I have an extra late a bdy slant K frame, but I have also considered building one from scratch. However, a realy cool option for a slant only stand would be the housing from a slant powered stationary power unit like a generator, sawmill, or water pump. A factory Chrysler engine run-in stand with all thegauges, radiator, and ignition system would be pretty nifty.

WOW! What kind of wheels are you using to support the K member?

Thats beefy! PLUS the engine...wow!

Actually, the basic core support, frame rails and transmission cross member aren't that heavy. Add the K Frame, radiator and motor/ftransmission - now there's a little weight. There are no inner fenders or firewall. I used 2x2 boxed tubing, a section of a pair of bumper brackets and some 6 inch swivel wheels up front and a pair of wheel assemblies from the tongue of a trailer on the rear. All the wheels are removable so the stand can be stood on the core support end; works great!!
