I have found a lot of info on BBD's searching on this site. But is there a list of BBD numbers and there applications, usually someone posts numbers and then someone ID's it for them. I have adopted 10 BBD's (one has Holley stamp) and 1 BBS only 3 have tags. There is a 6365S a 6262S and a 4808S. I have been able to ID 3 as Super Six by using the BBD manual. Did the BBS have tags? If so is there away to tell them apart without tag? Thanks in advance for any help!

Without a tag, you cannot identify a Carter carb. The numbers stamped or cast onto the various castings do not help.

4808S: ???

6262S: ???

6365S: '73 Dodge truck with 318

The lists I usually consult are here (passenger car) and here (truck).

Thanks! I'll probably post some pics of some of them in "for sale" if anybody wants them.

Good idea. If you post as many angles as possible (top view, bottom view, all four sides) it will probably be possible to at least get close to a useful ID on some of them.

Not that this would be the definite word, but I was watching a cool Chrysler training film online that compared the super 6 carb to the 318 carb.....the cutouts/slots in the grooves on the bottom of the carb are one giveaway. The 318 BBD has one continuous groove on either side of the throttle bores on the mounting surface for vacuum and the super 6 has the same grooves except they also have a "notch" at the apex of each groove....

Thanks, I did use a link that had the same info in printed form , 3 of the carbs are super six, 1 is a BBS (unsure of application) and the rest are unknown look like 318 but completely different variations. One is a Holley version. I will post pics when I get a chance. If someone needs carb or parts cheap!!!
