Would anybody happen to know what the nominal cylinder wall thickness is on a 225?

Have you read the block article by Doug Dutra? http://www.slantsix.org/articles/dutra- ... blocks.htm

You bet. I'll add that some have found the early blocks to have thicker cylinder walls, but I don't have any direct experience there. None of my engine failures had anything to do with block problems, but I've never gone for large overbores either.

Dutra's article pretty much tells me that the earlier 170 RB is the way to go. I have a great 225 setting here, but I might wind up prowling wrecking yards from here to Walla Walla looking for this 170 engine. I really appreciate your input. I'm finding out after 50+ years of playing with /6's, that I don't know nearly as much as I thought I did. :)
