I am not sure if ss.org allows a .pdf attachment? or it may be too large.

Maybe just share a direct link or post it to google docs or something.

Thank you,

Greg

I've tried several times to get them to upload. Anyone know the trick to this? They're PDF files.

I'd assume the forum will only let you update image files. You could do a screen capture of the PDF reader while you have the files open, but depending on how many pages there are and how far you have to zoom in to make things readable, it could be tedious.

I shared the link to Google docs on my original post. Let me know if it doesn't work.

Well, I don't know if they are any good or not, but they definitely have the tightest valve lashes I have ever seen advertised ??

It's apperently because of the high lift lift like someone said here.

I'm just wondering if they are a good upgrade for a cruiser in a heavy '61

That's not a good assumption to make. It's a tight-lash solid is all we know. It's not a Hughes innovation here. Probably Engle like their older cams.

It would be an experiment. Frankly, the valve spring seat and open pressures are quite high. If they really do need that much spring force to keep the valve train in check then cam, lifter and valve train life is not likely to be long nor are they likely to be low maintenance. For anything street driven I'd chose a cam with a lower rate of lift and lower spring pressure requirements.

I would worry about durability, as Josh and others have said. Please post what kind of performance and running/driving characteristics you desire, and a proposed budget. Then we can help you pick a cam.

Awesome!
I've got a 61 fury so it's pretty heavy
Double holley 1920
Hei ignition
(shortie headers with 6-8ft secondary pipes) in the making
Stock engine
3.32 rear end (might in the future swap for a 2.92)

Planning is just a cruiser i don't get over 3500 rpm and don't plan going faster as that. Just want torque and mpg..In the lower rpm!

OK, that is very helpful. I assume you have a stock automatic trans. Sounds like a nice cruiser. You will want just a bump above a stock cam. Unless you do head porting, you will not gain a ton of power/torque from just the cam, but you will gain some above a stock cam.

I believe Ken at Oregon Cams has specs for a "reverse dual pattern" cam for stock head and auto trans. I am not able to find those specs right now on this site. Can someone here maybe help find the link to that? I can look more later too.

More to come...

Lou

Perhaps something like the rv10 is more what i need.. Just a low rpm high torque cruiser.
Going to Rebuild the head and raise the compression.. And do minor head work and add an electric fan.. Just stuff to increase the torque and mpg!

Hope it's possible stuff like this is always a pain if you're from Europe
