Gotta be really careful with paint and body on that "exotic". Who knows what a new body panel would cost?

Body panels are made from lightweight composites.... rust, and dirt.

Have not had the car out due to Covid 19 restrictions.
Would like to get to a test n tune someday.

Car is 35# lighter, cause the driver is 35# lighter.

Need to stay at race weight now.

Other projects such as Grüne Hölle and the 69 Hyperpack Dart are also 35# lighter.

I was at the Spring Mason Dixon Race / Mopar Event in May 2021.

First hit off the trailer the burnout was weird.. Stage it up at the Line mash the loud pedal and the thing just creeps forward.

Transmission issue.

I could net even get the car up on the trailer really.. had to winch it up.

Got back home and pulled the transmission out.. Changed torque converter as I suspected it was that.

The Pump drive was good. and the converter ended up being fine. Slips in all forward gears.. But loads up fine and does burnouts in reverse, so It leads me to believe the rear clutches are smoked.

Trans Teardown to commence.

Yep, It was the Rear Clutch pack.

Everything else in the Trans looks Skookum as Frig. I must have goofed on the Assembly of that Clutch pack way back, the last time I had the trans apart.
Parts are ordered, and I will be checking up on my work on setting the clearances of that clutch Pack.

Does Footbraking have any Ill Wear effects on the rear clutches??

Just off the top of my head, failures on that could be tight band, nicked/rolled seal lip, too much/little clearance in the clutch, servo seals broken, low apply pressure, or maybe a sticky 1-2 shift valve. Too much overlap is also a killer. Does it bang 2nd real hard?

Yes i believe it hits 2nd hard .. when the car is rolling it's firm but when the rear axle is on the stand the wheels stop during the shift.

Got all my Parts to repair it. Maybe back together when I have time.

Got all my parts in order and found out why the thing failed... as I suspected assembly errors on my part.

Got the dumbass issues sorted, clutch clearances set, and gettin it assembled.

Got it all buttoned up.

No dumbass assembly errors (I hope) this time.

Added an xtra switch that puts little pixies into the trans st the proper moment.

Need to go to the local track for tnt and see what happens.

I hope the 60' improvres as a result of the clutches performing properly and not slippin' like a penguin on a glacier.

:D
