I have 2 '79 Super 6 carbs. I'm trying to keep the original 27k mile carb on this car. I've taken it apart now I'm lost in the assembly of the accelerator pump and metering rods. Even watching the video I'm lost. Looking at the other '79 carb off an aspen I'm still unsure. Am I the only one thats been in this position.

This 1st pic is the one off my '79 Aspen . Its like your pic. However, the 2nd pic is the carb off my 27k mile car. The top is not attached to the body of the carb so the accelerator pump is not pushed up. Is that my problem???

Get the plastic arms in place then slide the shaft in.

Quick answer yes. The book says to place pump drive spring on plunger shaft and then insert shaft into air horn. Compress spring far enough to insert S link.

The bowl vent should be tested . At hot curb idle should be open. At just off idle should close and seal, if does not seal atmospheric pressure will enter bowl an cause over rich mixture. About 7 minutes into this film. http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Lit/Films/303/

I wish I hadn't opened this carb. It sat for 5 years with fuel and it needed to be cleaned. It cleaned up really well being a 27k mile carb. No one really builds carbs anymore.
