Mine has a fitting drilled into the front of the block and an external pump from the lower tank of the radiator. Mike used a sprayer pump, but a pump for the rear heater in a Durango or minivan works just as well, and is about 1/4 the price.

I think Dorman has this pump at Autozone or NAPA for about $100 less.

Then you can make your plate solid or drill the fitting into it like I did on my Daytona.

Now you guys have me thinking, and that hurts.

I will cut the plate and leave the pump cut-out off for now.

Dist fits, however I can't get the oil pump in or out, it hits the frame.

More thinking...

So here is the latest progress, man this part is fun!

Trans in place, block plate in the correct location, 30 degree tilt done.

Figured out if I kick the front of the motor over a couple of inches, I could get the pump in. So I put all the stuff on the motor, put the front end back on with the hood and I have a 1/4 inch between the hood and the front breather. So I used the Offy valve cover and it has a pretty high standpipe. So if I cut a 1/4 inch off of that I will have plenty of clearance. First picture is everything installed and hood on, it fits! Now for the Headers....

Badvert, the engine is at the 30 degree tilt as designed. The bellhousing is square with the frame, so all that stuff is right were it should be. The transmission rear mount is square to the rear crossmember. I am going to use a hydraulic throw-out bearing because I don't want to fabricate a bunch of linkage and rods in the close space I have.
Is that what you were asking?

Mr. Burns sent me his last set of NA headers to see how they might fit.
The good news is except for a couple of spots they fit pretty well.
The bad news is they don't fit the Clifford Weber intake very well.
At least 4 tubes would have to be massaged quite a bit.

So thinking about getting the manifold from OZ and using that one.
It looks like the runners are a lot straighter.
Thoughts?

That is what I am running Stan. They do give you a little more room. They are 1.5" longer I think. Mine had to be massage quite a bit. Cross section was quite a bit smaller than the Clifford. Casting was off pretty good as well. Runners were not all level with each other when you laid a straight edge across them. Good news was there was plenty of meat to open them up and straighten them out. .
