No problem Dave.

Also give some shout outs to Gill Welding for partnering on this effort as well.

Not that this impacts my decision to buy one (I am), but can you confirm which T5 this kit is being designed around?
  • 83-93 V8 = 7.18" Input shaft length with .668" pilot bearing tip
  • 4 cyl = 7.41" input shaft and .590" pilot bearing
  • 94-05 V6 = 7.85" long input shaft and .668" pilot bearing
I already have a 90 V8 T5 with the 7.18" input shaft length. In my hunt last year (and associated posts) we all agreed the later V6 would have been a better option, as the guts are the same it just has a longer input shaft though it was harder to find and then more expensive. Fortunately, this longer input shaft is swappable into the V8 trans if it is the selected platform to build this kit around.

I'm in on one of these too, although I have no idea what I'm doing!

I'm glad educated people are here to ask intelligent questions. I would not have known enough to ask. And with these details, and the ones Greg already provided, this adapter will become a useful pieve, rather than a frustrating piece of wall art.

You should remember to bookmark this thread which has most of the details you need.

It should! It's a great resource you've pulled together. And from it, I believe the kit you worked with Gill on is going to use the 80s V8 input shaft length (the 7.18" one?)?

Yes The V8 Transmission should work best.. I have a V6 one in my swap and as you can see I had to do some machining on the input bearing adapter and the Input bearing / TOB support to make the V-6 Trans work correctly. The V-8 One ***should***be a bit more straightforward.
