So I’ve been reading enough to be curious or dangerous lol. Looking at valve springs
beehive style has advantages and disadvantages I have 3/8 valve stem diameter beehive style real advantage is at max rpm I believe 90% of the time engine won’t be there .

Cam lift is .504 with a 1.6 rocker ratio solid lifter
What style or brand springs do you recommend thanks
I’m looking at max rpm of 5500

what is really important is to get the spring height and pressure right.
But when deciding between conventional and beehive springs,, beehive sprigs offer the undisputable advantage of less weight at the top of the spring itself and at the retainer.
If you are spending extra $ to reduce valve train weight to use light weight: lifters, valves, push rods, it makes sense to carry that plan over to the valve springs.
If you are not doing anything extra to cut weight like going to smaller valve stems, or anything else,, I would stay with conventional springs.

Nothing wrong with conventional valve springs, they have been used in many fine engines for many years.
Your cam shaft supplier should have info on spring pressures, I am thinking the Engine Builder valves install at the stock slant spring height. You can shim under the spring to go up slightly on pressure or cut the springs seat to reduce it.

At a touch over .500" lift and 5500 rpm, you won't need a whole lot of spring anyway.

I agree and the cam says only 130 to 140 lbs seat psi
Just looking for extra hp a free pony lol I need to buy springs anyway lol

Can you even get beehive retainers for 3/8" stems? Asking for me, I don't really know.

When I was running that low of lift Mike stayed with stock 340 springs.

When I ran my .506/.513 lift cam I ran the Enginebuilder springs that were basically 340 springs I think. They worked fine and I was turning over 6000 rpm.

2 Mopars come with Spark plug tubes. One is a world class, racing machine. The other is a 426 CI. boat anchor!

12.70 @ 104.6

They would hold up on a 340 to 6500. Weight has to be less with a Slant valve, but I guess we make up for it in pushrod weight.
