I'm at 11.5 to one and run 112 and 93 non-ethanol mixed 50/50- Which is 102. With my cam I may not even need that but I don't know how to detect pinging with open headers. :D :D

I went high 12's/103 @2775# with a 10-1 motor and 4.10 gears. Compression is not stopping you.

I picked up .7 and 7 mph with just timing and jet changes, stuff that shouldn't have changed much, did.

I think the compression ( or lack of) is utilized by the installed cam timing as well that timing interacting with the cam specifications.

Got everything to put the new trans together....except the case.
Case was shipped but returned with incorrect address.
Can't make this up.

I don't learn something everyday, but caught this one today.
Working with a friend in Australia on Weber carb tuning.
If know Weber's, each carb has a throttle return spring inside the carb.
Add the mandated dual return springs by NHRA and you have 5 springs to work against.
I came out to check model numbers and noticed the main linkage lever was shifted.
The foot pedal hooks to this lever.
So as it slips you go from full throttle to 2/3 throttle.
Well that is a real problem, this has caught me more than once.
You can see in the picture the gap has closed up.
It doesn't really matter how tight the little bolt is, if that gap is gone, it isn't going to lock on a smooth shaft.
Going to increase the "gappage" and mark on the rod the correct position.
Looks like this will be an every round check point.

Also got the main shaft and extension housing together on the A-833.
Liberty Gears modified 3.09 gear set.
If you look close you can see the "Dogs" on the gears and the modified "clutch sleeves" that engage the dogs.
Now just cleaning parts to build a complete box.

Hopefully that will fix you up! Plus it is not that hard of a fix. :D
