Okay. You have that clutch tamer so i think you can help slip tune the clutch hit. .. to get that bog out of there. The bog is probably causing some of that time gain. . The bog could also be related to something else too, like cam timing or catb tuning.
Do you have an O2 sensor installed? If so data log or video the sensor readings on a run.

I may also suggest to borrow or try a shorter tire like 29 or 28.

Also try to launch above 5200 to avoid any bogging.

I think you have plenty of first gear.

May look into the accelerator pump shot also.

Engine broke after the last pass a couple of weeks ago.
Looks like something with the chain.
Turning the crank doesn't move any of the valves or the distributor.

Going to get the improved stage II engine started after I get the engine out.

I am happy with the trans and the Webers.
Not happy with front suspension, front shocks, clutch tamer, data collection.
Or the engine.

So here we go again.

Dang, sorry to hear that, Stan. Yep, here we go again. Hopefully the stage II will scream!

Last one I saw with a broken chain had a bigger surprise when the head came off, but you're on to better things already.

If you need any parts let me know.

I don't think the chain broke, I think the pin screwed up someway.
No bent push rods, it never sounded like contact in anyway, but as you said, I will find out!

I spent an hour on the phone with Charrlie yesterday, what a wealth of information!

After the Holidays and finishing some shop wiring and lights I got some time to start.
The Autopsy has begun.

Damper galled on the crank snout.
Bugger on the inside of the Damper.
Cam dowel is sheared off clean with the cam face.
The cam button I wanted and Mark G made worked perfect, no wear but it kept the gear in place.

So, crank, cam, new damper, and some machining.

I have never seen that before? Was the damper damaged from being so tight going on?

I am not sure Rick, but was super tight as you and I have seen putting them on.
I spent 3 days pulling it off last time but I could not get at it with the frame.
I had to use a flat metal circle with 3 bolts and turn them a 1/4 turn at a time.
But really the problem was it had galled then also.
I dressed everything as best I could and put it back on.
This time with the engine out I could use my puller.
It was hard, much harder than it should have been.
I can post the inside of the damper hub later today.

I like the one we have because of the v belt, but the tightness bothers me.
I don't see them on epay anymore.
