What to use for a oil pump gasket? I'm searching and the only thing I can find is the older 6 bolt gasket. Seems like there was talk here about a newer gasket that needed modified but I'm not finding it now.

Badvert65 on here makes a new gasket that does not need to be modified. They are really nice. Just drop him a PM or they may be on Ebay right now?

I got lucky and found a 6 bolt pump, have never used a 5 bolt version. But as I remember it doesn't hurt anything to use a 6 bolt gasket for a 5 bolt pump "but I wouldn't go the other way" on this
I bought a 10 pack of old stock fel pro gaskets a couple of years ago. I've gotten 6 bolt pumps on eBay.
But for the future I think I will be rebuilding/reusing original pumps ... Look at old posts here, at one time there was a decent amount of talk about that subject....

Questions on reusing the cam. My brother mentioned mic ing the cam lobes and comparing them to each other. What other things to check? Do I polish up the lobes a little? Just get a regrind from Oregon Cams?

Really interested in longevity and fuel mileage as much as power.

Thanks.

Pictures of some lobes and the fuel pump lobe. Maybe this is beyond regrind?

The fuel pump didn't put out much. I now know why.

Talk with Ken at Oregon Cams, they can weld up worn fuel pump lobes.
Don’t know if yours is repairable, Ken would know.

Timing chain replacement ideas? I've searched here a bit. Not sure I need a double roller set for a daily driver pickup. Do the cheap ones fail?

Or a roller.

For your street engine the standard one is fine.

Going with Oregon Cams. Welding up the fuel pump lobe.

What grind for a broad powerband? Thinking I'll stay with the single barrel 1945.

How much does a 2 barrel hurt gas mileage?
