I'm with Rick. Every flow curve I've seen stops gaining after about 0.550". Maybe you get another 1-2% at 0.600" on 1-2 curves I've seen from Drakes and Tilley? Tilley made the most HP on his NA engines with <0.550" so I guess those are all 350-370 HP lawnmowers (on race gas, not alcohol). He tried some "904" max rate and 0.600" cams and said they were worse on the dyno.
I wonder if Oregon would grind a cam with 0.550" lift and much longer duration? I don't see a need to stress the valvetrain or buy fancy schtuff if the lift doesn't help you anyway. I will be trying a longer duration cam on the 64 Dart NA engine when it goes back in. Still at or just below 0.550".
