Oil changed, head retorqued, valves adjusted.
I have been going over the Weber carbs, couple of things to tweak.
They are such simple carburetors.
Making a heat shield between the bottom and the headers.
Looking at the AFR gage options, don't want to invest couple hundred bucks with something that will confuse.
Adding a low pressure oil light, after I get it installed I will run it thru a relay to do something other than let me know it's too late.
Need to get the clutch pedal out and weld the pivot hole smaller.
Still have some binding. I will put a bracket to return to top and rest on the bearing.

I found a lawn mower cam that looks interesting.
What do you think Slantzilla?

They are not confusing at all. I never remember to look at mine till I'm back in the pits. I plan to mount mine on the rear fender.

Maybe your review mirror as you drive out of their lives.

What I am reading and I know we have talked about this before, my short header extensions.
The sensor will be having a hard time reading and providing good data.
And the only one port is on the front 3 cylinders.

Correct. I had mine in a 4 inch header ext. on one header. Only reads 3 cylinders but worked fine. I now run 12" extensions.

Great News!!!!
Will
Thanks Will.
Do you think David will install my front struts now?
LOL

I think that he is worried about the historical value of the car.

Been a while since I posted.
A couple of life events have slowed my progress.

Here is a short run down of Colt progress.
The clutch pedal has been welded and re-drilled for the smaller rod end bearing to the master cylinder.
The clutch pedal now feels good to me, no sticking.
The clutch tamer has gone back in.
There was a fellow on FABO who used one years ago and he gave some great advice and pictures of his install.
Heat shield on the bottom of the Webers.
One turn tighter on passenger Coil Over, tires adjusted right and left to control launch out of the hole.
It wants to go right coming off the line.
I plan to launch at 4500. We shall see.
New set up on the Weber Jets to what I have been advised to tweak.
AFR Gauge has been installed.
It won't read AFR at Idle, experts say not enough tube length.
I purchased a German made Synchrometer to balance the Carbs.
I was going to T&T tomorrow but I don't feel great, so maybe next week.

I have my 170 back from the machine shop.
Fitting the 198 crank and grinding big metal.
Still deciding on which pistons and compression ratio.
This engine will need new headers to fit in the Colt, Low Block.
Looking forward to 21xx lbs. car.

Another 225 on a stand that will get a set of 3.500 pistons.
That engine will be dry sump and crank trigger.
Total Seal Rings.
Locally built head.
I want this 225 to replace the Colt V3 that is in the car now.
I don't want to be down more than it has to be.

Droll head is at the machine shop getting new rocker shaft supports.
This head will go back on V3 when it is pressure tested and new valves.

Thats about it.

Stan what is the purpose of the "smaller" engine? Just weight savings?

It prevents having excess money laying around, and keeps you from having to have a lot of safety equipment that fast cars have.
