It takes seemingly forever for me to get results sometimes, but I always get results eventually!

FYI, I will be attending a science conference in Tromso, Norway in 3 weeks, and I almost got a flight with a stop in Helsinki. I also thought about trying to get a 1-3 day stop in Finland, but I was not able to do that. Someday, it would be great to meet you! Anyway, just letting you know I was thinking about that.

Cheers,
Lou

That should get you down at least 500 RPM and it should still be great up high. I would even go 216 LSA and maybe 214 deg @ 0.050" for a street car, or 218/218 and 116 LSA sounds about perfect. Leighton Drake used quite small cams (like the MP 244/0.436" cam) and still made 500 HP on a 225. I am going to try the Howards cam 214/214 with 0.450" lift and 112 or 114 LSA on a 225. On a 170 you should go wider on the LSA. Kenny Duttweiler (famous turbo V6 guy and Bonneville authority) recommended 116 LSA for Bob Dally's 170 bcuda with turbo.

Such a 218/218/116 cam now exist. I probably install it to somewhere 112 to 114.

I bought a used core cam with an oil pump it has been driving. If the pump looks okay I will use it. If not I will use the gear to the new pump. I dont need 6 bolt pump as I have a oil sprayer in the location of distributor. Ignition is made by waste spark six output coil.

As my garage season is just opened - I got other stuff out of it and autumn is going too cold for my E85 Dart - I am planning go and start the build.

My head is "blueprinted" to 58cc and the block has almost stock height - letters stamped from factory still exists. Pistons are "some brand" and just below the deck.

As I dont plan to run gasoline ever with this but just E85 should I mill the head a bit for compression increase? Something like 9-9.5. Still the 218-218-116 cam is pretty much wilder than stock.

I am not schooled in E85 usage. Maybe search internet for how much CR you might increase vs. gasoline on boost? I would probably stay at 8.5-9:1 myself, but again I have not researched this...

It is said "not pinging". The rattle heard is because parts are bending and cracking. Probably I keep what I have and just control the boost by ECU.

I am planned to set the cam to about same as the 224/224/110 was. Intake in between 106-110. So the biggest difference with the new cam is the exhaust lobe advance by the added LSA (116-110=6).

And I hope the factory cam core with factory pump gear will be better than parts I have had.
