When I floor my Duster at 60 MPH to pass somebody, it does'nt kickdown to 2nd gear. Is it supposed to do this. My D-150 is the exact same way. Floor it around 50 and it will dropdown a gear. Above 60 it does nothing.

Depends on your rear gear, sometimes you can be going too fast for the trans to kick down. You could do it manually. You may need to adjust the throttle pressure linkage a little. Mess with that and see what happens, give it some more pressure (push back on the trans arm)

It has 2.76s out back, so is their any risk of overevving my motor if I pull it down manually?

that depends on the speed at which you do it

keep it in second, then drive up to just below the power band limit, note your mph speed, that`s the speed at which you can safely kick it down and still have it pull some more for passing

stock trans should have a governor dis-allowing ridiculous manual downshifts, so downshift away!
