 Post subject: Horrible Bad Stuff/ NOT

A couple of weeks ago I posted about my Duster and the carb problems I was having. I was all bummed out at having ruined a valve and having a totally dead cylinder, the car ,running on 5 cyls was no longer a good car to drive. I mean I was bummed. You won't believe this. Today, on my way to work, it started running better. Then at lunch, better yet. On my way home it ran damn good for a 31 yr. old 200,000 mi. car. So the question is, do I now drive a true miracle Duster, or was the problem more something like a small piece of carb base gasket getting stuck in the intake or exhaust valve? Or even the check valve from the carb Causing some damage but then me ,being pissed, tacking it up to 5 grand a time or two, hammering the valve back into shape. I tell you I don't know and I don't care. Maybe I will pull the head off this thing some day and find out, but not soon by the way its running again. Long live Plymouth. Long live slants.

I wish my Dart's slant would heal itself like that. Wiped out three main bearings and grenaded a couple piston ring packs, c'mon heal! :x

I've rebuilt a couple high mileage engines that had valves stuck by varnish, sounds like this happened here. Pulled them loose, polished them up, and ran them for another couple years without trouble.
